A dental implant is a durable, artificial tooth root made of titanium and used as the support for dental bridge work or individual replacement teeth. The implant affixes directly into the underlying jaw, just like the rest of your teeth, providing the most secure possible base for your dental work.
I provide many dental implants to patients, and it’s no surprise they usually have the same key questions in mind when we’re discussing the procedure. I’ve made a handy list of the most popular questions below – and remember, if anything isn’t covered here, I’ll always be happy to advise and reassure you in person.
How much will it cost?
The exact cost, of course, varies depending on the procedure you require, meaning you’ll need a consultation with us first. But the good news is that whatever the outcome, our financing options are there to help you to spread costs in a way that’s manageable for you and your budget.
How much does a dental implant procedure hurt?
Perhaps the most popular question that I hear! A standard local anesthetic is usually all that’s required for a dental implant procedure, just the same as you would receive during a standard procedure, for example. I will recommended appropriate pain medication to take care of any remaining discomfort when the anesthetic fades, but it will be easily manageable.
What will the service and care be like?
Your comfort is paramount, and our post-operative care is every bit as important to us as the professionalism of the procedure itself. We want to monitor our work and I will be able to guide you on all aspects of aftercare for your new dental improvements.
How is it going to look afterwards?
Our end goal is that we promise nothing less than a beautifully-crafted cosmetic finished product which is structurally secure, aesthetically pleasing, and with the most natural and pleasing finish possible.
